Summerside area businesses feeling the love during February

Business LoveSUMMERSIDE February 12, 2016: Mid-way through month-long program run jointly by the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Summerside Inc., one thing is clear – there’s a lot of business love flowing in Summerside.

Business names have been heating up social channels as the two organizations solicit submissions in a joint attempt to celebrate our business community. “We’re getting good responses on Facebook, Twitter and email,” said Jane Sharpe, Executive Director, Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce. “And the businesses that are getting mentioned can feel very proud that their customers are taking the time to recognize them.”

“We’ve now been out twice to present the week’s top three businesses with a token of the community’s appreciation,’ said Pam Montgomery, Executive Director, Downtown Summerside Inc.  “Our weekly finalists were chosen because the customers who submitted their names made the clearest case for why those businesses were special and deserving of our recognition and thanks.”

The six businesses who have received a commemorative wall certificate and a beautiful box of heart-shaped chocolates to date are:

  • Bernard’s Quik Mart – because “saying hi to Sampson the Samoyed working behind the counter is a great start to the day.”
  • HMS Office Supplies – because “how can you not love this store? All the staff are amazing, and go above and beyond to help during every visit. “
  • Michael’s Pizza – because “they have the best garlic fingers on PEI!”
  • Mystical Touch – because “the staff are awesome and Quannessence products are the best.”
  • Samuel’s Coffee House – because “its warm and friendly staff make it such a welcoming gathering place”.
  • Avonlea Books – because “Richard makes great suggestions, makes me feel welcome and always has a good story to tell.”

The program continues until February 29.
