1. What is your name, and how long have you been living and working in Summerside?

2. What was your journey to landing as the Store Manager at M&M Food Market?

My journey has granted me the pleasure of wearing a few hats throughout my career. I worked my way
into automotive sales and retail management before starting my tenure with the company as a meal
advisor. Ultimately, I transitioned into the store manager role in late February of this year!

3. Tell us one of your most memorable experiences while working at M&M Food Market?

My most memorable experience was our grand opening. To see the community rally behind our return
to the area was exhilarating. You could really feel the excitement in the air!

4. What would be a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about working for M&M Food Market?

We have fun experiencing all the different types of food to better educate ourselves on our products. This gives us a chance to try foods we maybe wouldn’t normally try.

5. What is the work culture like at M&M Food Market?

Our climate is a special and unique environment. Our team combines a love for food with a high standard of customer care.

6. Why did you choose Summerside to live and work? 

My family and I chose Summerside for two reasons. Summerside offers a great variety of amenities, whether it is some truly special local businesses or the stunning scenery, as well as the opportunity to raise a family in a safe and tight-knit community.

7. What unique opportunities or challenges have you encountered while living and working in
Summerside?

Since moving back to Summerside a year ago, my family and I have encountered a variety of challenges, such as child care, medical care, employment opportunities, and, of course, a challenging housing market. All things considered, however, the quality of life we are able to provide for our young family outweighs the temporary challenges we may face.

The exciting part about Summerside is the opportunities that lie waiting for entrepreneurs.  We are fortunate to have a little bit of everything in our community, and seeing the way our reception has been, it is easy to see that any sort of business that comes to Summerside has the opportunity to be successful.

8. If someone was thinking about moving to live and work in Summerside, what advice would you give them?

My biggest piece of advice is to be patient, and it is never too early to start the process. I moved back to Summerside from Ontario eight months before my fiancée and children did in order to minimize the impact of the large move on our children. With all the hardships you may have to endure, it is important to remember your end goal.
