Three GSCC entrepreneurs profiled on Island website

Three very different Summerside entrepreneurs are profiled on the new Island Advance website which was launched earlier this spring to help foster a vibrant entrepreneurial community in Prince Edward Island.

“We have limited natural resources, but we are not limited in our entrepreneurial spirit,” Ron Keefe, chair of the Island Advance advisory board said when unveiling the profiles.

Stephen Howard, owner of Renewable Lifestyles, Chef Norman Zelecon, owner of The Galley by Chef Norman and Sharon Quann and Reid Barnett, President and CEO respectively of  BioSpa (Quann) Cosmeceuticals Inc. are all featured on the site.   To view their full stories, along with others across the Island, visit www.islandadvance.ca.

Island Advance Steve Howard

Steven Howard started his renewable energy business on the strength of his concern about the use of fossil fuels. The sale of a wind turbine proved that his business model was going to work, but growing Renewable Lifestyles into a company that provides a living for a half-dozen people and contributing to making renewable energy a growing phenomenon on the Island help Howard define success.

Island Advance Mystical-Touch

BioSpa (Quann) Cosmeceuticals Inc  is Atlantic Canada’s only manufacturer of a full-service fully integrated professional skincare line based on natural ingredients for esthetician clinics and home use.   “People are concerned with wellness, not just cosmetics,” says Sharon Quann.

Island Advance Chef Norman

The Galley on the Summerside waterfront is the first year-round gourmet food truck in the Maritimes. It showcases top-quality produce from P.E.I. farmers and fishers — enhanced by Chef Norman’s global culinary experience — with the motto “from the streets to your door.”
