The Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be featuring an exciting lineup of events and activities to inspire entrepreneurship, celebrate small business, and strengthen the connection between business and community during Small Business Week 2022, happening October 17 to 21.
The theme of this year’s Small Business Week programming is connection. The COVID-19 pandemic divided individuals and businesses in many ways, sending millions to work from home and shop online, causing tremendous challenges for many small businesses, as well as the community in general.
“As we continue to forge our way back to some semblance of ‘normal’, connection is key,” said Blake Doyle, President of the Chamber. “Small Business Week 2022 will be an exciting time for local businesses to reconnect with each other, and the communities they serve at our featured events.”
The Chamber will host a variety of events and activities over the course of the week that will provide business professionals with the opportunities, skills, and connections they need to succeed. The week will kick-off with a Small Business Marketplace at Credit Union Place on Monday Oct 17 from 12-8pm, giving businesses from all industries the opportunity showcase, sell and promote their products and services, and build strong relationships with each other and members of the community that will continue growing their businesses and the local economy.
An educational webinar will also be offered, lead by Jenn Waugh of JW Media, a local Marketing company. This webinar will bring industry leading digital marketing strategies to local business to educate and improve their social media and marketing presence in order to facilitate connections with potential clients and partners right here in PEI. The main event of the week, the 2022 Breakfast with the Premier, sponsored by Standard Aero & CBDC Central, will give the local business community an opportunity to connect with government leaders in order to facilitate cooperation, connections and support between business and government.
The Chamber is looking forward to showcasing Island businesses and community connections during Small Business Week 2022.
