To protect the health of their employees, most companies have shifted to a work-from-home model and many are considering a permanent shift to work from home for some roles. Leaders can no longer evaluate progress and results by walking around the office, checking in on staff, and holding impromptu problem-solving meetings. Leaders are facing many challenges adapting to managing remote teams including how to manage technical requirements, how to stay connected, and how to monitor performance and produce results. In addition, many leaders will eventually be supporting a hybrid team with work-from-home and in-person roles. This will add another layer of complexity.
