1. What is your name and name of the business?
Philip Sullivan, Jewellery Plus
2. How long has your business been operating, and how long has it been operating in the Greater Summerside area?
Established in 1986.
3. What inspired you to start this business, and what made you choose your location?
My Father’s accounting office was located above Crockett’s jewelers and he got involved in the jewellery business through Parker Crockett. I joined the business full time after completing a Bachelors of Business Administration at UPEI in 1993.
4. How has the local community responded to your business?
We have lots of great supporters locally. Many repeat clients who have been with us for years.
5. What do you love most about being a business owner in the Greater Summerside area?
Short commute to work and small town feel.
6. Are there any specific challenges or advantages to running a business in the Greater Summerside area?
The challenge in any small market is giving clients multiple reasons to enter your store.
7. What are your plans for the future of your business in the Greater Summerside area?
We are expanding our engraving business. Hoping to open soon at 240 water street
8. Can you share a success story related to your business in the Greater Summerside area?
We’ve had lots of clients reach out to us because they found out that we engraved some nice glass awards for the chamber.
9. What advice would you give to someone looking to start a business, and why should they choose the Greater Summerside area?
Be prepared to work hard and get involved in your community. The old saying goes people like to do business with people they know and like.

We try to have fun and exceed customer expectations.
