I started the business in Bridgewater, NS 6 years ago. I opened my second location in August of 2023 in Summerside PEI, my hometown, so I have been in operation in Summerside for one year.

I started this business to fill a much needed lingerie void in these areas. Originally, it was going to be a Wig shop and a place for breast cancer survivors to find mastectomy products. During my time working on my business plan I realized that I needed to include all women and fulfill lingerie needs for everyone. We now carry a full inventory of wigs, mastectomy products, swimwear, nightwear, sports bras, shapewear, sexy lingerie, panties and lingerie accessories.

My inspiration to open this business came from muy personal health issues. I have been dealing with a condition called Alopecia Universalis (total hair loss) for the last 20 years. My experiences with wig shopping were extremely disappointing and expensive. My condition is not life threatening, but my thoughts went to the women who were going through Chemo and trying to find a wig. I knew I had to do something to help them. During the beginning stages of the business planning I was diagnosed with breast cancer and dealt with that successfully, ergo, my ability to relate with my customers was enhanced. Finding a location on Prince Edward Island was a challenge, high rents, extensive renovations, long term leases and of course Covid inhibited me from opening sooner. My current location ticked all the boxes; great rent, parking, wheelchair accessible and the perfect size.

The local community has responded very well. Local ladies clothing stores have helped spread the word that I am in the area. I have close to 800 followers on Facebook. On a daily basis, when women enter the shop, they pause and tell us how happy they are that we are there in Summerside.

Summerside is my hometown and it feels great that I can fill the lingerie needs of the ladies I know and the ones I am going to meet.

My future plans are to continue to grow, by increasing my inventory, especially in Wigs and Swimwear.

One of my first customers entered the store and commented on her difficulties in finding a proper fitting bra. After fitting her into 6 different bras, she bought them all!!! She was so thrilled with the look, feel and fit of them all.
I would recommend that a new business join the Chamber of Commerce and get involved in the community. The Summerside Business community is very supportive of newcomers.

Recently, I went to my first lingerie/ swim buying show. I gained a tremendous amount of new knowledge about my industry. I will be adding new inventory that is not currently available in the Maritimes over the next 6 months.

Currently, there is no other store that carries wigs, bras, and mastectomy products all under one roof. We can help ALL women with their lingerie requirements.
