Nearly 90 business leaders met at the Oval to hear from seven economic organizations in Summerside. on June 16, 2016. The goal of the evening was to look for opportunities for those groups to work together more efficiently towards the longer term economic growth of our area.
This initiative, aptly named Forward Summerside arose at the Chamber’s second annual The Way Forward 2015 conference where delegates voted it as the number one priority required to facilitate Summerside’s future prosperity. 
At the June 16 event, the presenting organizations each provided a brief overview of their mandate, vision for economic development and challenges. Attendees were then invited to look for opportunities to reduce those challenges by identifying areas for increased collaborative efficiency between the groups.
The next step will be to review the suggestions gathered at the Oval and craft them into a series of recommendations. 
Those recommendations will then be presented for refinement at another public session.
