Marketing & Sales Coordinator

Responsibilities

  1. 1.  Work with Chamber staff to market a number of planned events ranging in size and complexity.  This includes, but is not limited to:
  • developing and implementing promotional messages for social media, media relations
  • executing event ticket sales through email campaigns and telephone follow-up
  • assisting in administrative tracking of sponsorship and overall event budgets
  • assisting in coordination of speaker needs, AV requirements and travel schedules
  1. Assist Chamber staff to develop and implement a member recruitment/retention strategy, in particular:
  • customizing Chamber CRM database to facilitate better use of recruitment pipelines and follow up.
  • Implementing and evaluating specific tactics as directed by the strategy.
  1. Participate in day-to-day Chamber staff activities as required.

We are a small office so often just have to jump in to do whatever is required on a given day.  This can mean covering phones, stuffing sales kits, assisting with the implementation of our new customer management system, developing social media messaging or running small errands.  However, that also means lots of variety, the opportunity to interact with members of our business community and an environment that’s never dull.

Skills required

  • good knowledge of Microsoft office programs including PowerPoint and Excel
  • independent thinker and the ability to manage technology as a business tool
  • great interpersonal skills and telephone manner
  • organized and superior attention to detail is necessary
  • ability to deliver on deadline
  • social media savvy, familiarity with Hootesuite
  • an interest in, work experience or education in marketing, including database marketing, would be helpful
