Downtown Summerside
Downtown Summerside encourages shopping and supporting local, creates new opportunities to come Downtown, and offers unique experiences that will encourage you to keep coming back to enjoy the tradition of coming together in the historic downtown area. This year, they added benches, walkable pathways, banners, and the trail trivia experience as a way to build pride in the community. They hosted the Taste of Downtown Summerside, Walkable Food Festival, Play the Park, and worked with community partners such as Michael’s Pizza and Centennial Auto Group who hosted Classic Car nights in the downtown every Friday evening all summer long, along with Edge 251 and Sheen’s for shoes who hosted a magnificent Sidewalk Sale in 2019, and 8 other events that were held in the Downtown by the Summerside business community.
Generation XX
Generation XX is an award-winning youth organization and drop-in centre in Summerside. For more than two decades, Generation XX has been open to members, and the general public, 6 days-a-week, 52 weeks-a-year, offering local youth access to Eastern Canada’s only indoor skateboard park. In early 2019, they were pleased to work with all three levels of government to begin the first phase of a back-to-the-studs renovation to renew their facility to serve generations to come. In 2020, they are pleased to work with all levels of government again to complete a second phase of renovations, including a second floor expansion and an elevator to make their club a fully accessible space for local youth to meet, socialize and learn new skill.

MRSB Group goes above and beyond the call of accounting for local businesses. Warren Ellis created and funded 100% of the costs for the annual Grass Roots & Cowboy Boots fundraiser for the Prince County Hospital Foundation, which just celebrated its’ 11th year, and has raised over $8 million dollars. He has participated in and raised over $500,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation since its inception in 1981, is the annual corporate sponsor for: PEI Alzheimer Society, PEI Kidney Foundation, PEI Cancer Society, and PEI Heart & Stroke Foundation. The Innovation PEI Award for Employee of the Year
Chantal Delaney, Credit Union Place
Chantal is the Client Services Manager for the City’s recreation/entertainment and meeting place at Credit Union Place, and exudes dedication in every aspect of her role. Whether its prepping for a busy box office “on-sale” or leading a group of interested convention clients on a site visit, or ensuring her front line staff have all the tools they need to support the delivery of the hundreds of recreational programs offered at the City’s CUP, Chantal delivers on each of these with the highest level of professionalism, care and customer focused service. Above all else, what sets Chantal apart his her “bleed through the eyeballs” work ethic and while that saying may seem somewhat crass it’s the truest definition of her willingness to always go well above and beyond the call of duty.
Margaret Clarkin, The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada
Margaret Clarkin joined the College of Piping in 2016 and brought with her over 30 years of financial experience. Maggie has operated her own bookkeeping and office management company for 25 years and has clients in both the not for profit and private sector. Maggie has been invaluable to the College, she truly cares about the organization and always has the college front of mind on how it can thrive. Often Controllers aren’t recognized in the public eye, but Maggie has been working behind the scenes all of her life and I think its time that she is recognized for her contribution to the College of Piping, the City of Summerside and Arts and Culture on Prince Edward Island.
Truda Stavert, The Physio Center Inc.
Truda is an Administrative Assistant at The Physio Center Inc., and she exceeds expectations in all areas of her job. She is the boss at client scheduling,and therapists can always count on her to go the extra mile to make sure their day runs smoothly. She works closely with all members of the administrative team to support client care and co-ordinate information sharing with insurance companies, physicians and lawyers. She steps outside her comfort zone to attend training, and offers suggestions about how her workplace can improve and grow. Truda exemplifies the saying “the customer comes first”; and makes every effort to understand client’s injuries, their life schedules and provide support for their treatments.
