On September 23 and 24, 2018, more than 300 representatives of chambers of commerce from across Canada met in Thunder Bay ON to democratically determine the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s (CCC) advocacy agenda for the coming year.
The debates, held over two days, addressed numerous issues of national importance that require federal government action. The focus of the resolutions submitted ranged from strategic infrastructure development to improved services and regulation to fiscal and tax reform.
Some of the significant policy resolutions passed include: support for a public/private national pharmacare plan; a predictable and determinant environmental impact assessment process; made-in-province carbon reduction programs; and improvements to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program — all of which were supported by the Atlantic caucus.
All of the 63 resolutions passed at the annual general meeting can be viewed on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce website.
