Business Excellence Awards Terms and Conditions

What you need to know about making a nomination

  • Anyone can nominate a business or individual for an award but the nominee must be a current member in good standing with the GSCC.
  • Businesses/individuals may be nominated for more than one category but not more than three.
  • Previous winners of the New Business of the Year Award cannot win in the same category again. If new nominations are received for previous winners in this category, they will be eliminated by the GSCC Awards Committee.
  • A nominee can only be nominated in a maximum of three categories per year. If the nominee receives additional nominations during the second year so that the total nominations exceed three, the previous year’s nominations will be excluded first.
  • Nominators must complete all information on the nomination form, including the consent from the nominated business or individual. By consenting, the nominee agrees to meet terms and conditions of the awards program.
  • Explain why you are nominating this business and specifically how this relates to the criteria for the particular category you have chosen. Be succinct and precise because this information will be used to describe your nominee during the voting process.  Try to stick as closely to the word count specified as possible or your nomination may be edited.

Terms and Conditions

 Nominator responsibility

  • The nominator agrees to provide a clear and concise description of how their chosen business is a good example within the chosen category. Indicate results of a particular initiative, feelings generated by working with them or any specific examples that support your nomination. This information will be used as the nominee descriptor in the voting process and is what members will use to make their decision.
  • The nominator also agrees to receive and provide consent from the nominee to take part in the process.

 Nominee responsibility

  • Each nominee will be required to submit 7-10 photos. These photos can be of their business, organization, products, staff, etc.
  • Nominees will be expected to provide their photos to the GSCC within 3 weeks of being notified that their nomination has been received.
  • The nominee further agrees to meet all GSCC deadlines provided and to attend the awards and/or any other events associated with the Business Excellence Awards. Missed deadlines can halt the process for others and therefore may result in the nominee being dropped from the process.
