1. What is your name, and how long have you been living and working in Summerside?
We’re Tara Shea and Wendy Holm, co-founders of In Good Time Wellness Collective. We’ve both been living and working in Summerside for several years. Supporting individuals, families and youth through our counselling work and now through our collaborative practice.
2. What inspired you to start this business, and what made you choose your location?
We started In Good Time because we wanted to create something that didn’t exist here yet— a warm, welcoming space where people could learn emotional skills, feel truly supported, and access a variety of wellness services in one spot. We also really wanted to create a positive, professional place for other clinicians to do their best work.
Summerside was an easy choice. It’s home and there’s such a strong sense of community here. We saw a need for services and wanted to be part of the solution in a way that feels sustainable and values-driven.
3. Can you tell me about your business and what products/services you offer?
In Good Time Wellness Collective is a team of therapists, counsellors and wellness practitioners working together under one roof. We offer counselling for kids, teens, adults, couples and families. We support folks through all kinds of challenges- anxiety, stress, grief, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, ADHD and more.
Beyond counselling, we also offer:
- Hypnotherapy
- Reiki and intuitive energy work
- Meditation support
- Workshops and group programs throughout the year.
Our clinicians use a range of evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, ACT, narrative therapy, trauma-informed care and mindfulness-based strategies. Everything we do is about helping people better understand themselves and feel more equipped to handle life.
4. What do you love most about being a business owner in the Greater Summerside Area?
There’s something really special about doing this work in Summerside. The sense of community here is strong- people are kind, supportive and open. We’ve had great experiences connecting with other local business owners, organizations and schools and it feels like everyone is genuinely cheering each other on.
5. What advice would you give to someone looking to start a business, and why should they choose the Greater Summerside Area?
Our biggest piece of advice in business is to know your ‘why’ and let that guide everything- From how you treat people to the services you offer. Starting a business isn’t easy, but when it’s rooted in purpose, it’s a lot more fulfilling.
Summerside is a great place to build something real. People here value connection and community. Whether you’re starting something creative, professional or service-based, there’s room to grow- and a lot of people are willing to support you along the way.
