Meet Landon Murray, the 2025 recipient of the Wendell J. Gallant Memorial Scholarship from the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce.
This scholarship was established by the family of Wendell J. Gallant, who was President of our Chamber in 1989, with the stated intention “to enhance the future likelihood of young people contributing to the Business Community in the Greater Summerside Area.” Wendell was a strong supporter of the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce & was energetic in the undertaking of any task presented to him, resulting in a beneficial outcome to the Business Community.
Today, we honour Landon Murray, a recent graduate of Three Oaks Senior High and an active member in his community. In September, Landon will be moving to Charlottetown to continue his studies with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Actuarial Science. We had the chance to sit with him to discuss his plans and goals.
“It means a lot to me,” says Landon, “It means I can get my education paid for more securely, and it would benefit me very much”. Currently, Landon plans to pursue a career as an actuary or a data analyst, and receiving this scholarship to support his degree is the first step.
When Landon is not in school, you can find him playing video games, playing piano, or listening to music.
